THE FOUNDATIONS OF LEADERSHIP BOOTCAMP: THE NEW
MANAGER CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
An organization’s success or failure depends on those
on the front-lines…those who can make or break it for the organization
based on their ability to understand, motivate, and engage the staff and
employees looking for direction. “The Foundations of Leadership
Bootcamp: New Manager Certificate Program” includes four challenging
seminars designed specifically for front-line supervisors or managers
as well as accomplished technical professional who have been promoted
to a leadership or supervisory role. The programs provide powerful training
in that they are intensive immersion experiences proven to help attendees
move from technical to managerial-leadership roles with confidence and
success.

Core Competencies for Front-Line Managers and Supervisors

- Leading and Working With People (Part 1) emphasizes
that to successfully lead a work group, it is essential that you be
aware of your responsibilities as part of the management team, understand
the principles of effective leadership, and know what factors motivate
people in the workplace. Unit 1 includes practical information and exercises
designed to increase your skills in providing outstanding leadership
for the people in your work group
- Mastering Leadership Supervisory Skills (Part 2)
helps you become skilled in the “nuts and bolts” of leadership,
management, supervision: delegation, performance management and problem
solving.
- Managerial Leadership Effectiveness (Part 3) emphasizes
that as a manager, supervisor or team leader, you are responsible for
developing a competent, committed team. Also, you must confidently lead
ongoing change.
- Improving Communication Skills (Part 4) builds from
the fact that the most successful managers are excellent communicators.
At this workshop, you develop insight into your own and others’
communication styles; practice listening, speaking and meeting skills;
and develop skills to resolve conflicts.

Part 1 - Leading and Working With People
To successfully lead a work group, it is essential that you be aware
of your responsibilities as part of the management team, understand the
principles of effective leadership, and know what factors motivate people
in the workplace. Part 1 includes practical information and exercises
designed to increase your skills in providing outstanding leadership for
the people in your work group. Core competencies focused on include: making
the transition to manager, understanding people and motivation, leadership
style: directing, coaching, and facilitating, developing talent and potential.

Part 2 - Mastering Leadership and Supervisory Skills
You develop “excellence” in leadership, supervision and management
through continuing practice in the skills demonstrated by outstanding
leaders and managers. Part 2 helps you become skilled in the “nuts
and bolts” of leadership, management, supervision: delegation, performance
management and problem solving. You learn to assign work in a manner that
ensures under- standing and willingness to cooperate, diagnose and solve
problems quickly and successfully, and improve the performance of your
best, average and marginal employees. Core competencies focused on include:
performance management, coaching and providing feedback, decision making
and problem solving, and delegating.
Improve the performance of both your employees and work group
- Develop clear expectations and understanding for increased productivity
- Set and reach achievable performance plans and objectives
- Provide constructive and meaningful feedback to both your best and
your marginal employees
- Find solutions to performance, disciplinary or motivational problems

Terms and Conditions
All fees are to be made before the Seminar and payable to the Institute
for Leadership and Global Education (ILGE). If no written notice of cancellation
is received 21 days prior to the seminar, the fees will not be refundable.
A substitute is welcome, otherwise a full fee is charged. If no written
notice is received or if the participant fails to report for the Seminar,
the full fee is chargeable.
